Bad breath ?

In 1865 A young English surgeon named Joseph, and a follower of Louis Pasteur. introduced Antiseptic procedures, as well as sterile instruments for surgery. Joseph also identified the bacterial cause of bad breath.

He produced a mouth rinse to kill the germs and remove the foul odor.   Who was this chap named Joseph.?

Why,  Joseph Lister, of course !

And in his honor we have Listerol, and Listerine, and Listermint, etc...
