Meteors and Meteorology

In ancient times, men looked to the heavens and wondered.  What did it all mean, and how did it work.  He assigned patterns to the stars, forming the constellations. Soon, he discovered the wanderers, which are the planets. In time he figured out the path that they traveled.

There were also the visitors, or the guest stars. We know them as Supernovae, they make themselves visible to us from time to time.   But..... The falling stars or shooting stars. there seemed no way to figure them out. They were random, and without pattern, just like the weather.  In fact, because of this, they were thought to be related to the weather.

That is why they share the same Greek root word in their names.
